Farm House Dining Room Remodel
When we walked in the first time, the wall paper on the ceiling of the dining room was loose and hanging down to the floor. The ceiling plaster was cracked and falling, held up on only a prayer. We put a jack under the worst area. Some areas were able to be secured, but most of the ceiling had to be removed and replaced with sheetrock. We didn't really need a dining room, but we did need a pool room. Without a basement, we decided to do it in here. This is our fun house, after all. The niche we turned into a cue holder. The mirror is original. I kept the trim, including the 80's plain chair rail. The simplicity of it off-set the more elaborate wallpaper I put up. I went with a paintable, thick, patterned vinyl. On top of the flat darker gray paint, I dry brushed a silver metallic. It really highlights the pattern, without being too gaudy. Time consuming, but well worth the effort. This wallpaper will ding.
